RCGA objective

Our Story

Starting as a country tavern back in the 60's many locals remember the name Green Acres. Several successful proprietors operated the location for decades. Today's owner Dave Schuh, a local kid who grew up in Eden, WI remembers visiting Green Acres often with family. Now fast-forward to 2010 and after running hundreds of restaurants across the country for several successful corporate restaurant brands, Dave decides to practice what he preached and buys the 10-acre property and facility for his wife Laurie for Christmas. Dave's sister Kathy joins the team as a business partner and all 3 are instrumental in creating a Family Owned Business. That establishes the current business Red Cabin at Green Acres Bar & Supper Club or to some, simply RCGA.

Today you can enjoy this unique restaurant located 10 minutes east of Fond du Lac. Serving customers Wednesday through Sunday (closed Monday and Tuesday) RCGA is open at 11:00am for lunch and serves all day. Sunday features an off the menu Brunch served from 9:00am until 2:00pm. Every day the restaurant features different tastes and flavors. Some menu items are unique to the area, others are Dave's favorites while many reflect the choices at Wisconsin Supper Clubs. Dave best describes the business as Country Comforts with Big City Tastes ™.

Time is a testament to any great brand. And the initial plan – create a unique destination where you leave happy and satisfied, willing to tell your friends about the flavorful food, the surprising amount of choices and the friendly service – still holds true today. Awards along the way reinforce the effort – Best Soup, Best Lunch, Best Entrée and Best Dessert. And 5-time winner of the People's Choice Award for Taste of Fond du Lac. Featured also on an episode of wisconsinfoodie™. But Dave's experience has taught him that "you are only as good as your last plate". It requires a team focused on daily execution at an expert level. Cooks and chefs are referred to as Flavor Experts while the servers and bartenders are described as Satisfaction Experts. All share the 1 common thread for success – 100% Satisfaction!

And ingredients do matter, you should expect the best. Your food should be fresh! Produce - washed, cut and prepped in the restaurant daily, never processed and bagged with preservatives. You can taste the difference of local dairy fresh cheddar or jack cheese shredded in the restaurant. Homemade soups, beef chili, queso and salsa not from a can. Fresh never frozen chicken that's marinated in a spa of flavor. Butcher fresh ground beef that sears when you smash it on the flat-grill, not frozen patties from who knows where. And steaks that are selected based just as much on how the cattle are raised and handled as they are 100% certified choice grade black angus. Combined with our custom spice blend called Triple D you don't have to be afraid of flavors. And nowhere else in the county will you find a restaurant offering you 20 different side items, most prepared in our kitchen full of flavors with ingredients and methods to avoid gluten.
